Not very recently, but within PhD. Making time for lunch/coffee breaks with colleagues is really important. I am definitely more productive when I take a break than working straight through, and my colleagues have helped me with problems and vice versa which is even better. Probably not quite the answer you were looking for but life-changing discoveries in science are fairly rare, usually its small things that build up into something exciting but minor.

I discovered that the more I grow older, the less time I have to read books (something that I love to do). Then someone introduced me to audiobooks! I LOVE AUDIOBOOKS!!! Now I can listen to a book on the bus/train/plane and not have to remember to carry a physical book.
