      One example of this is X-rays. X-rays sit at the shorter wavelength, higher energy end of the elecromagnetic spectrum, between gamma and ultraviolet. They are used medically in diagnostic tests – for example, to identify broken bones, or check that your teeth are healthy.

      Electromagnetic radiation can be used to kill cancer cells. This is called Radiation Therapy or Radiotherapy. X-rays and gamma rays are examples of electromagnetic radiation to do this kind of therapy to make cancer patients recover.
