Usually around 9-5, but I work quite flexibly. I sometimes pick up again in the evening after putting my daughter to bed if I’ve had a later start.

I have flexible working hours which is great. Typically I work from home 2 days in a week, and when I am in the office I get in between 8-10am, and leave 4-6pm ~7hrs a day though this varies. I don’t normally work weekends. On fieldwork it is very different, for Biodar we were up at 4am and getting back at around 7/8pm with further prepwork to do. For flying, the actual flight is 4-5hrs long, you need to be in 2hrs before for briefing, but for instrument work, it could be 3-4hrs before take off, and then after you might have to physically take the data off the aircraft, we then have a debrief so ~10/11hrs, but this could be first thing in the morning or late at night, you could have a double flight aswell. So fieldwork is longer. However, if you do work long/weird hours, you get time off in lieu (extra holiday)!

I work 9-5 Monday-Friday, and sometimes evenings and weekends if I want to meet a deadline or get really interested in what I’m doing. 🙂

I usually work shifts. Morning is 7AM-3PM. Afternoon is 3PM to 11PM. Night is 11PM to 7AM. Usually I stay an extra 30 minutes before and after my shift to overlap with the other shifts.
