Antimatter is made up the particles that are the inverse, or antiparticle, of particles of normal matter. For example, the electron has an antiparticle called a positron, which has the same characteristics as an electon but the opposite charge. If a particle and its equivalent antiparticle collide with each other, they are mutually destroyed and produce a gamma ray photon.
