      Hi city362bat,

      Anything that enters your body somehow and can cause the body to **change** what it is trying to do on its own is a drug (my definition). Like sugar. or the caffein in tea.

      With that in mind, yes insulin is a drug. If you go now to the doctor and take insulin, it will mess your sugar levels up, because you already have your own insulin production – i.e. for you, now, taking insulin is bad. However, if you’re diabetic and your body is lacking insulin to operate, then taking insulin will make it work better, so it becomes good.
