Great question. The largest star that we know of it called UY Scuti, and it is about 1,700 times the radius of our Sun. It’s also one of the most luminous stars we know of. It’s a red supergiant star, and if we replaced our Sun with UY Scuti, it would stretch almost out to the orbit of Saturn!
But, this isn’t the heaviest star. That prize goes to R136a1, which is 265 times the mass of the Sun, and it’s also the most luminous star!
